SALT CREEK BAPTIST CHILDREN’S DEPARTMENT
Kim Nelson leads our Children’s Ministry. Kim taught for 29 years in the public school system. Her experience proves invaluable as she coordinates, plans, and directs Salt Creek’s ministry to children. She teaches Kindergarten through Fifth Grade in Children’s Church each Sunday. Kim also leads our older children on Wednesday during our Bible Study time. Her organizational skills and her willingness to “step in” at a moment’s notice ensures every need within this ministry is met. More often than not, Kim is assisted by her mom, Bobbie Scott, on Sundays and Wednesdays. Bobbie displays a sweet, loving spirit toward each child, and her presence blesses each life she touches!
Angie Miller serves as our Nursery Director, and Peggy Smith assists her. Their love for our Savior is manifested in the way they care for these beautiful babies.
Pam McCullough leads the toddlers. Pam seeks to show these precious preschoolers that they are loved and cherished by their Savior and their church.
Upcoming events for the children's department include an Easter celebration focused on teaching the true meaning of Easter. We are also preparing for Vacation Bible School, scheduled to take place June 10 – 12, 2024. In the fall, Kim incorporates all ages to host our church’s Fall Festival. Last year, our children and youth departments participated in the Brownwood Christmas Parade for the first time. The children were dressed as characters in the Nativity while the youth handed out candy and “invitations” to visit Salt Creek Baptist Church. We hope to make this an annual occurrence.
Kim and her team lead our children in many fun, Christ-centered activities. They strive to impress upon children of all ages the unconditional, eternal love God has for each of us.
